When Will Hamas Ever Learn?

June 27th, 2006

Don’t. F—. With. Israel.

Israeli troops entered southern Gaza and planes attacked two bridges and a power station, knocking out electricity in most of the coastal strip early Wednesday and stepping up pressure on Palestinian militants holding captive a 19-year-old Israeli soldier.

Israeli troops began taking up positions in two locations east of the Gaza town of Rafah under the cover of tank shells, according to witnesses and Palestinian security officials. Palestinians dug in behind mounds of dirt, bracing for a major Israeli offensive.

The Israeli strikes came amid intensive diplomatic efforts in the Arab world and by the United Nations. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urged Israel to “give diplomacy a chance.”

With all due respect to Condi, Israel has given diplomacy numerous chances.

Terrorists don’t understand diplomacy.

Palestinians, by and large, can’t seem to grasp diplomacy. They won’t be satisfied until Israelis cower before them — just before they entertain fantasies of marching them into the sea.

Israel has zero tolerance for kidnapping games like the one Hamas and its nutjobs have decided to play. To the Israelis, an attack upon one is an attack upon all. When that happens, all bets are off.

Just get out of the way and let Israel show the world how it’s done. If it’s a can of whup-ass Hamas wants, then it’s exactly what they shall receive — and whatever happens, happens.

May Cpl. Gilad Shalit be rescued from his captors and returned home alive.

For Gaza’s sake.
