Shame on Las Vegas

Chuck Muth rightfully rings in the new year with last night’s observation:

Because some careless union worker accidentally set the roof of the Monte Carlo Hotel on fire a few months ago, some government genius(es) decided that the New Year’s Eve fireworks show – which has successfully been launched from the rooftops of Strip hotels for a half dozen years now – had to be launched instead from Strip parking lots this year.

I once prided myself on having a Strip view from the homestead for watching the fireworks. Now that’s gone down the drain due to bureaucratic nonsense.

Not once has a resort rooftop in Las Vegas ever went up in flames due to a fireworks show.
