Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has used her son’s death in Iraq to spur the anti-war movement, was arrested Monday while protesting outside the White House.
Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.
Sheehan was the first taken into custody. She stood up and was led to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, “The whole world is watching.”
The protesters doth exaggerate too much. This woman went from being a legitimate grieving mother of a combat soldier to a media whore who’s using the death of her adult child to milk the media-attention cow for all it’s worth.
The whole world is NOT watching Cindy Sheehan as she sells out the credibility of her cause to every Bush-hating, jihadist-loving moonbat that fauns upon her. She makes Jane Fonda look jingoistic.
She has crossed the line to rooting for the very terrorists who killed her son — and who, in their mind’s eye, wouldn’t hesitate to beat and kill her for protesting if they were in charge. Some people in the world are frankly sick and tired of the biased media giving her extensions on her allotted 15 minutes of infamy (I dare not call it fame).
I will defend Cindy Sheehan’s right to protest and dissent (for all the talk of this country being “ruled” by a “clueless dictator”, even said so-called dictator also respects the right of free speech — otherwise Sheehan would’ve suffered far much worse than being arrested for a misdemeanor), but I will not tune in as she turns tricks for the camera and besmirches the memory of her son Casey.
You don’t understand. She (Cindy Sheehan) has said it a million times before, she knows that her son is gone and is nothing that anyone can do to bring him back, likewise is nothing that anybody can do to bring back the lives of the near 1900 other kids (american soldiers) that had died on this invasion against other nation. On the same token there is nothing that any one can do to go back and convince the stupids at congress (that by now very well know) that there was not weapons of mass destruction in Irak Don’t you remember Three yeasr ago that the only word you heard over and over was WMD?
150 congressman signed a letter to request an explanation from the White House about documents discovered in the UK about attacking Irak before the 9/11, is going to be near a year that them and me and many others we are still waiting for a response. And don’t be doub about it we will get a response and Bush and all other offenders eventually will end up in jail.
Cindy Sheehan and the Thousands agreeing with her we don’t want any more killing of soldiers and killing of Irak citizens and concentrate all our efforts to make this country the icon of equality and fairness that all the rest of the world had in the past. The great majority of the population of United States still believe on that and we will continue to fight for this cause and never doubt it we will get it
No, Hugo, I do understand. And those 1900 ADULT men and women weren’t press-ganged into service by Emperor Chimpy McBushitlerburton I’s Rovian Stormtroopers either. They enlisted of their own free will and they knew from the get-go the possibility of being called into combat.
I know exactly what Cindy’s thousands (or did you mean millions?) want: Cut and run from Irak (sic), and hope that those mean ol’ Islamists will leave us alone. Maybe we should also play kiss-and-make-up with the UN, and let the Joooos get pushed into the Mediterranean Sea while we at it, too?
