Glenn Reynolds responds to recent attacks by his critics:
[...] I do, in fact, support the reelection of George W. Bush, for reasons that should be clear to long-term readers. While I’m not overjoyed with Bush (I’d prefer Lieberman/Cheney, or Cheney/Lieberman), I think that electing John F. Kerry at this juncture would be like electing the ugly bastard child of Jimmy Carter and Millard Fillmore — in 1940. (I could be wrong, of course, and if Kerry should happen to be elected, I fervently hope to be proven so. But that’s how it seems to me. I mean, Jesus, just look at the guy.)[...] If this bothers you, please sod off and go read Atrios or Kos.
My feelings exactly.
The recent piling on Glenn, along with the increasing buildup of venom from the Rabid Left can be summed up in three words: Kerry. Is. Losing.
I guess the endorsement Bush got from Iran helped him a little, eh? I resent being called rabid. That’s f**ked up, man. You’re not that mean in real life.
Jim, you overlooked in the same article that Bush rejected that “endorsement”.
I find it amusing, though, whenever I express an opinion on this blog, it’s dismissed as being mean, hateful, or nasty.
The far left IMHO has become increasing hostile and vitriolic towards anybody who doesn’t see things their way — even to the point of making it their appointed duty to tell right-of-center bloggers what they can and can’t say on their own blogs. If that in itself ain’t f**ked up, I don’t know what is.
I’m not a mean person, and quite frankly, this blog reflects what I really think in real life. I won’t back down from expressing my opinions here.
Although we rarely see eye to eye on politics, I don’t consider you to be a rabid lefty — unless you really think I was referring to you personally.
No, I’m not the rabid type. They are too authoritarian for my taste. Any authoritaian is rabid, IMHO. Nonetheless, as always, folks like us are living proof that people can disagree and still coexist.
