Teresa Heinz Kerry said Wednesday that “only an idiot” would fail to support her husband’s health care plan.

“Of course, there are idiots,” Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, told the (Lancaster) Intelligencer Journal for Thursday’s editions. [...]

“I don’t have to sell it – the people want it,” Heinz Kerry said of the health plan. “The common man doesn’t look at me as some rich witch. I talk about what I see. It has always been so. You judge people not by their pocketbook but by their actions. Walk the walk.”

You first, witchiepoo (no offense to Billie Hayes or the Krofft fans out there).

Why don’t you “walk the walk” and ditch your top-dollar specialists and first-class medical resources for a taste of your hubby’s socialized medicine — and see how long you last without timely, quality care?

I know that health care is a serious concern for many, given the high rate of uninsured/underinsured citizens. However, socialist controls aren’t the answer. Health care can be made affordable to all through tax reform, tort reform, and privatization. Returning free-market health care options to individuals can help the solution.

However, a wealthy socialite who could be the next First Lady thinks it’s idiotic to let “the common man” have the same health care options that’s presently available to her — at affordable prices.
