Several months ago, I made the following statement:
Despite a primary challenger and a Republican opponent, Williams will waltz back to Carson City by a blind majority who can’t handle the truth that Williams is a corrupt, callous man who has utter disregard for the laws he was elected to uphold, who willfully falsified his time cards and abused his work privileges, and misused his office for personal favors. If I or any other person even thought about doing the heinous things that Williams got away with, I expect to be scorned and made a pariah. But what really upsets me here is how voters in Williams’ district can be so obtuse and continue to act like sheep and re-elect a bad politician who, in all factual reality, doesn’t give a damn about them anymore.
As of last night, I’m pleased to say that I was wrong, and the voters of Assembly District 6 have my apologies. They are not blind, and their decision to oust Williams based on his past actions have proven such.
Congratulations to Harvey Munford, who now advances to the November general election.
It’s good to see that Nevada voters are, at least to some extent, thinking, compassionate people. It’s good to see Double-Dippin-Double-Dub get smacked down at the primary. Awesome. Munford will likely be my pick in the general. It’s a happy day, truly.
Unfortunately, that good Judgement didn’t extend to Judge Hardcastle, who, personal problems aside, should have been voted out just for the disparaging remaks he made about Las Vegas to the New York Times.
