(The Return Of) Open Thread Friday

February 6th, 2004

I apologize for the lack of posting, folks. To put it short, I work for a living, and having a fluctuating work schedule doesn’t always leave me with time to blog, and blogging from work is definitely out of the question.

With that being said, I’m willing to entertain two options that other bloggers are already using to keep the content (as well as the rise up the TTLB ecosystem) rolling: select guest bloggers and more open thread postings.

I haven’t worked up the nerve yet for an open-mic session for guest postings, but I will keep an open mind about it.

So, what say you? Do you think you have what it takes to be a guest blogger on dct.b? Do you appreciate the finer things in life such as individual liberty; an unrehearsed perspective on local, national, and world events; and an affinity for popular culture? Would you be willing to pinch hit for Yours Truly every now and then?

Although I can’t promise a million-dollar prize, a lucrative recording contract, or the love of your dreams, I can give you a forum to say what’s on your mind and share a lot of link traffic with you.

I already have several people in mind to invite to join dct.b as guest bloggers; but I want to hear from you. Please leave comments in this post or e-mail me.

Perhaps it would be fitting to come up with some ground rules, from the get-go, for guest blogging. This is beginning to be a trend among the other blogs, I’ve noticed.

I’m working on those. Suggestions are welcomed.

Of course, I will still maintain editorial control to make sure things don’t get out of hand.

DC, I’m all for it, and I agree with the ground rules. There haven’t been many ground rules I’ve seen— most of them have been the right to edit/revoke postings.

I haven’t seen revocations of postings/people, so there wouldn’t be much fallout.

Can one of your personalities do me a favor and change my link from http://la4israel.org/aarons-rantblog to http://la4israel.org/wordpress

I apologize. I wanted the former but it resolves to the latter, so it’s best to consolidate on where the search engines see the Rantblog. Thanks.

Only one personality here, which is me. Request granted.
